Default Carnewal Strut Brace question and Group Buy interest....

I'm sure this has been covered-I'll even link to an old post-but what is the general consensus on stut tower braces?

Is the one offered by Gert Carnewal (Strut Tower Brace For P93) for 250 Euros the OEM Porsche RSR part?

Is the GT2 version still available? (see Flying Fynn's reply #2)
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...RS+Strut+brace

How does the one from 911Chips compare? http://www.911chips.com/C2strut.htm

Given the success of the recent Carnewal FPB group buy would others be interested in a similar GB from Gert?

The GT2 version that Gert used to sell is no longer available as far as I know. The only source I know of for these currently is FabSpeed. I believe the one Gert still sells is the OEM cup brace. I don't know anything about the 3rd option you listed.

Thanks Scott! The Fabspeed bar is available at Pelican (FAB-911L-GT2-EVO) for $275.00. How do you like yours? Do you notice any difference? I looked into these before and decided to wait but my interest has been renewed.

I haven't had it too long . . . so I need to take some time to take a peak and see if its staying in place or sliding under stress. The issue is that it has oval holes on one side of the bar to allow for fitment. I'm not too sure how the stress wouldn't cause the bar to "slide" under cornering. I must say though . . . that my cab feels stiffer with it installed . . . and this piece did fit in nicely . . . like a glove. I really wanted the 1 piece GT2 bar . . . and just missed getting one last year before Gert stopped offering them . . . with only round holes. So, I decided to give the FabSpeed bar a try . . . you only live once . . . and learn a bit more each day.

If I ever decide its not what I want . . . I'd likely get the RUF bar . . . and then next choice would be the OEM cup bar.

I might be interested. One of the Total 911 guys, who is also a Rennlister, is offering a carbon fibre strut brace for a little bit less money if I remember ciorrectly. No affiliation, etc, etc.

Cheers,

David

I have been in contact with Gert since late last year regarding the GT2 replica bar. From my conversations with him, I would recommend staying away from Fabspeed's version.

Gert is still trying to find a manufacturer to produce an accurate replica of the Matter GT2 bar. I am waiting until this happens.

I'd be on that like a fat kid on cake . . . if it ever happens.
