Cool Remove track tire residue, bugs, etc.

I have had my car to the track for years. The biggest pain after coming home was cleaning up the car. This past weekend I was at the track and my pit partner had a spray bottle of Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover.. He let me share the bottle.

Amazing stuff: It gets out those pesky tire residue marks effortlessly. Combine this stuff with a spray bottle of Meguiars Detail spray, some rags and a little "elbow greese", your car will look brand new for the ride home.

After every track session, I just sprayed on the Bug and Tar Remover where required. I would also use the Detail spray as needed to remove road grime.

Here is what Turtle Wax says, ""It leaves a deep wax shine" , and "Removes Bugs, Tar and Tree Sap" (and tire marks)!

Turtle Wax Home Page

I am not compensated in any way for this endorsement, other than the fact that my car looks very clean throughout the weekend.

Yep, it works well. Just cleaned up my wife's X5 after driving through a swarm of bees in Central CA. Man, those little guys get stuck everywhere!

Thanks for the tip. After using bug and tar remover, it may remove the wax, so suggest waxing over those areas.

You need a perfectly clean car just to drive home and get it coated with bugs and dirt again? Oh, brother!

Sorry - I'll clean the windshield/windows and headlights and that's it; rest can wait till I get home and have access to a nice garden hose.

(Thanks for the tip, anyway. On pesky road tar/bugs I use WD-40 but have to follow up with a wash to get it off. Otherise, it attracts dust like crazy.)

Cool Ray writes....

"You need a perfectly clean car just to drive home and get it coated with bugs and dirt again? Oh, brother!"

Good to hear from my brother from another mother, Ray on this, although me thinks he is not all that supportive of the concept. I don't really care about the road grime and there are not that many bugs...its those pesky rubber marks. I want them off. And besides, with over an hour between track sessions, I have nothing else to do.

I love that stuff. It's got "wax" in it so it doesnt leave the paint nekkid.

If any of you guys have "Wheel Wax," that stuff is great for removing tire marks. It wipes on/off efforlessly, and tire marks come off w/o hassle. And the plus is it leaves that area waxed.

Wheel Wax is also superb for cleaning off rubber marks, bugs, tar, etc. while leaving a good, durable wax finish.

You may want to give a shot at Burnout Guard
Here is the link
http://www.geddex.com/burnout.htm

Works great for me
Spray allots of it before you hit the track
Just takes a minute to dry up, forms a clear film over the paint
At the end of the day just hose it off.
