Default One Year of 993 Ownership, Observations...

One year ago this week I purchased a 95' 993 with 65K miles....Observations in no particular order: (Previous car was a Boxster S).

1) Best car decision I ever made
2) Zero issues, flawless performance. Had only the rear wiper snap on me. Car has started the 1st time everytime. Have 75K on car.
3) No upgrades performed and none by the previous owner. Love it the way it is, and I think I still have the original suspension???!
4) Car is fast, DE's and otherwise.
5) Took several weeks, but can now shift the car as smoothly as a BMW 325 without thinking.
6) Most people think it's a 05/06' model
7) Women love this car
8) More compliments than any other car I've ever owned
9) Get a thrill everytime I'm in the drivers seat. Lost that thrill after a couple of months with the Boxster
10) A/C works remarkably well down here in humid Louisiana
11) Car is extremely well built
12) Daily Driver, Only car
13) The engine has only needed a single quart of oil.
14) Within the next month will...change oil, buy tires, and fix squeaking brakes. Not bad for a 1st yr of ownership...
15) I will ALWAYS have a 993 in my parking space!

I'm approaching my 1-year anniversary. However, unlike you, I slid off the slippery slope (note the signature line). Great car.

I'm 2 months away from my 1 year anniv.

The only negative I have with the driving the car are the idiots that cut you off and try to race you just because you are driving something they could never dream of owning...

That is good to hear. I'm on week one of 993 ownership. Lots of BMWs previously and currently. I can't walk by, or even thing about, the car without getting a big grin on my face

I am working on three years of ownership and let me say that the feeling never goes away. I still stare at the car in the garage, parking lots, etc. Being from Ohio and storing it during the winter makes me remember every Spring what a great car that it is. I am slowly slipping down the slope with some small mods each year with an occassional big one thrown in. Enjoy the car, drive it hard and keep up the maintenance and you can't go wrong. I can say that I feel so fortunate to own the car that I dreamed of since I was about 8 years old. There is no substitute.

It will be 3 years July 4th for me. Born on the 4th of July in Lake Tahoe! $7k in upgrades and services since July 2003. Services being basic maintenance and upgrades for performance. Besides that, clear sailing however I'm getting the itch for a 97 TT.

1 year and 2 months for my 993 ownership - and loving every minute..

I've slid part way down the slippery slope as others here have and have really enjoyed the increased performance at the track (where you REALLY notice it).. In addition, I have also been suprised by the almost continuous compliments on the car from strangers..

Just last nite I was giving my sister a ride from the U-Haul place.. The attendent complimented my car and said he'd like to have a car like that in his garage "just so he could look at it and polish it".... My thoughts exactlty, but I get to drive it too.. A slice of heaven.. We are lucky..

1996 993, 62Kmiles, 14 months of ownership, no issues other than tire wear on the rear tires. Was concerned about a recent emmission inspection, but I passed with flying colors. What a relief! The previous owner had done all of the "necessary" modifications in good taste. What a joy it is when I have time to uncover "blackie" and let it rip!
