Don't know the option code But its fantastic. If you are highway driving 75/80 MPH w/your windows down and sun roof full open you can still hear the music loud and crisp. Plays cd'd like a champ and never skips I also like when you tune in a radio station and it tells you the artist and song. Cool right? When I purchased the car I wasn't necessarily looking for this option. But now that I have it it's amazing. Not bad for a 96. Back when cell phones were called car phones.

My car has the HiFi option and CD changer and I like it, although admittedly I don't always have it on. I'm in love with the exhaust sounds and Varioram......Muuhahahahah
I also have that oh-so-important Car Phone (click on my car's name below)

Speaking of this, I have spare hi-fi speaker enclosures (with speakers of course) sitting around due to my weight-reduction program. Gladly accepting offers...

My car has the Hi Fi stereo, and man, it is friggin' LOUD! I barely play it above 1/4 on the volume, and I like loud music. Maybe I need to try blasting it once in a while instead of listening to the engine when it's really revved up.
If I do find out that I am losing my hearing from years of playing lead guitar in rock bands, it is a comfort to know my car stereo will always offset my weakening ears.
My CD player also never skips, even with the SUV ride height.

That is surprising to me. I have the Hi-fi upgrade, and think the stereo doesn't sound all that great.( Even before I installed the Supercups). I mean it's fine, but the Harmen-Kardon in my wifes MBZ is totally smokin". One of the best car stereos I've ever heard.

Porsche lost their way when they started putting ANY "sound systems" in the cars in my opinion! It isn't what they are, or should be, about.............. Of course the system in my Benz is a better sound system......
