Hey Rich,
More time for the family ...yeah, that's about the only reason to curtail track events that we can accept around here Thanks, again, for that pair of Fuchs ...sure it helped push me over the slope, but heck, I was headed that way anyway. I could only agree on your desire to "retire" the 993 to pure street duty. It's too nice to risk an "incident" and my Trackmeister is proving to be loads of fun, with lots of performance still on the table for my modest talent; I can't say enough for it. Only sorry we never got to meet up on the track, but that will come another day. Enjoy the family, bro!
Adam,
Or anyone else interested in a DAS rollbar, DAS makes a "weekender" bar (still PCA/POC, and SCCA approved) and a weld-in. I have a bolt-in "weekender" DAS in my SC and it is, indeed, truly bolt-in, without cutting or drilling, and mine fit perfectly. It's an easy installation: remove the front seats to gain some room, and it's pretty self-explanatory from there. And remember, these things new are in the $900 neighborhood once shipped to you so Rich is giving you the serious Rennlist-goodguy price. Best of luck to you!

Rich;
If you don't get any local buyers, I'm interested. I am in Canada, but would have it shipped to a location in Ogdensburg NewYork where I would pick it up.
Cheers;
Eric

Mark, Chris and bruddah Edward -
Thanks for the kind replies! No, I'm not going any where and will still be here. Edward - I hope to join you on the track one day with a similar car (SC or Carrera). Thanks, again.

Adam and others,
The new DAS bars are around $900 and that doesn't include painting or powder coating. The install is pretty easy and a fun DIY with others - it just takes a little patience and a flexible hand when bolting in the bar to the front seat belt receptical mounts.
You do not retain the rear shelf because you have to use the outside bolt holes for the rear seat backs. It is easily replaceable, but not retained when the bar is installed. Also, with the bar it isn't easy to get stuff back there, but in packing for the track you would be surprised what you can squeeze back there - helmet, 2 chairs, track suit and bag, along with out of town travel bag, etc.
At $600 and already painted it is a good buy.

really, you going to a short wheel base 911 for a track car in the future? I would have thought 944/951 was the cheaper dedicated track car of choice if retiring track duty for the 993....
BTW: I'm glad as well that you'll still be around.

Hey, Chris:
Please tell Eric I said hello, as well. Regarding the track car, you're right about the 944 being more affordable, but I need to keep true to my 911 roots! I used to track an '86 Carrera some years ago w/ the POC, so that's where I'd like to return to.
Take care, Chris.
