Default What Wheel Color would you choose?

Sometime in the next week or so, I'll get the car off the jackstands. I picked up a set of Cup II track wheels with MPSC's. They are a little dinged up (like good track wheels should be), but fine for my purposes.

I'm thinking of doing a quick job of painting the spokes to take some of the shine off the wheels. Here are my options:

Original Shot:

Lowered with Photoshop:

With solid black wheels:

With just the spokes (better for mounting/demounting tires too):

And with a dark gray spoke:

What do you think?

I voted grey spokes, or all grey. Then again, I am biased

I must say that I like the normal silver - it's the spoke pattern which sets off the car (IMHO). But, with grey I'd do the polished lip as it seems to define the wheel a little better.

But regardless, if you like it you can't go wrong

Black Spokes and High Polished Lips also!
You can also color match them to the car and have the polished lip. Chris

It sounds like you want to do something other than "leave them alone."

My choice: Paint them your favorite color. Think of the early white RS cars with the spokes painted red or blue or green. I think that's a great look for a white car.

Second choice I like the gray spokes.

Thanks for the votes and feedback. In this iteration, I won't be polishing the rims, just leaving them in chipped up silver (track wheels). But since it is hard to mask a straight line right at the rim edge, I was going (as close as I could photochop) to have the rims/edge/flat in silver, spokes in gray or black.

Will this still look as good?

If you're going to paint them, DEFINITELY polish the lip! Grey or black is up to you--grey is a bit more original.

I have been toying with doing the same thing. I was thinking either white or grey center for mine as well. Although, I really like the blue or red scheme. Are there any other colors to tie into? What color will your number be?

Pete
