I'm not seeing what you are seeing to make you suspicious. The car is a nicely optioned 1998 Cab with tip and fairly low miles. It's at $36,900 with 4 hours to go, and the reserve hasn't been met. Looks pretty routine, except for lots of bidding activity. I think this is legit.

Is this your car? Congrats!

It's not actually 46 bids. When you see the same name appearing in sequence on the bid list, it's someone making a bid that is not high enough to exceed that person's maximum bid. For example, you see ppeanut bidding 10 times 4 minutes, that's actually rahrah10 bidding 10 times until finally rahrah10 entered a bid that exceeded ppeanut's maximum bid value.

I'd be a bit nervous about the low feedback count of rahrah10 and wfm45. And ppeanut's only have one feedback history since June 05, and it's an english tea cup that s/he bought. LOL.

One think I notice is that you didn't specify a deposit. That's a no-no. Usually, I'd specify that $500 deposit be made via Paypal within 24 hours, or I'd go to the 2nd highest bidder. And if it's Buy-It-Now, the system can force the bidder to pay the deposit right away.

Good luck!

Reserve hasn't been met anyway...it won't sell on eBay.

So much effort vilifying the tips. We all understand why you didn't want one but is it really necessary to start a thread to denigrate the option?

Very few of the people have lived with a Tip so they are a variety of opinions.
That 1998 Black Cab is a beautiful car.

TRINITONY has a Tip, IIRC. Maybe he wants to buy another Tip and wants to help the prices go down? :b

Yes, I'd like to think if/when the time comes that some rennlister will gobble up my beloved Tip

...BTW: Have I mentioned that I have no problem keeping up with my stick counter-parts at DEs

...and I have HUGE advantages in some respects such as:

a) I never have to worry about 'missing a shift' and blowing up my trans and engine
b) I can concentrate on my line and not worry about shift points
c) I never have to worry about redlining and breaking my car due to too much redline driving
d) I find that at some tracks (Like Gingerman for Example) I'm FASTER than my stick counterparts because the computer can shift quicker than I ever could dream of.

I don't think he meant anything by that comment. Nothing wrong with tips, I had one as well.
