Not sure what you mean by "wide body kit" for a '95 993? Are you referring to the GT2 riveted fender flares? I can't imagine what else that could mean. I've never seen it done to a narrow-body 993 (such as a 1995) but I suppose anything can be done. Hopefully you're not referring to converting a narrow-body to a widebody ("S" body) because that would be a monumental waste of money.

Have you checked out the kit Carnewal sells to change a NB 993 to a turbo look?

Okay, a little more background....

This customer also has a 1989 Speedster as well as this '95 '993. I think he looks at his speedster and then the 993 and wants to to the conversion. Money isn't necessarily not an option but I know he has the means if he wants. I've created a folder of websites and will keep looking.

I do believe the "body" we are interested in is the "S" body type.

Once again I appreciate all the help. Have a great evening and I'll check with y'all tommorrow.

Try Getty Design. My 964 (my avatar) now has 993 GT2 styled body panels (wide body plus ). If you do a search for "turtle", you'll find more pictures. It's definetly a narrow body to wide body conversion.

Cool Best bet....

sell the narrow body and by a Carrera S (2 WD) or a Carrera 4S (4WD). If you cob up a stock body, you will ruin the car for any possible resale value, and who knows if the body shop will get it right? Chances are, probably not, unless you have deep pockets...then anything can be done.

I agree, why would you mess with a perfectly good narrow body for something that is available for a few dollars more ? I would think selling the '95 for a Wide body 97 or 98 would be cheaper and safer..

Are you saying he wants to convert his 1989 Speedster to a 993S body? I'd hate to see somebody ruin a perfectly good and rare speedster for something as mundane as that. At any rate, http://www.smartracingproducts.com has some widebody parts I think.

If he wants to convert his 1995 to an S wide body, well, I don't think people do that. You'd need to weld in new fenders, new rocker panels, etc. Wow, a lot of work just to get 2 extra inches width. Like Martin said, sell it and buy an S. I'm not familiar with the kit Carnewal sells, but I'd be surprised if it actually converts to a true S/turbo body. Perhaps, but I'd be very surprised.
