Default Wheel Question

Am looking to upgrade my 17 inch stock cup wheels, and have been searching for MY02 5-spokes wheels without much luck. Any suggestions on where to search other than ebay and wheels enhancements.

Will 18 inch Carrera III Wheels from a 2005 997 fit a narrow body 993? Here are the particulars:
Front: 997.362.136.00 18x8 ET 57 offset
Rear: 997.362.140.01 18x10 ET 58 offset

I'm looking to upgrade 17" to 18" this summer. I'm looking for new or almost new turbo twist for my '95 narrow body. Can someone reply or PM where would be the best place to buy. Is Wheel Enhancements aftermarket wheels? If so, are aftermarket wheels generally ok? I'm new at this...

thanks for the help..

Talking Here is the deal....

MY 2002 wheels, made for Porsche by BBS, are very popular. You may have to buy them new. Wheel Enhancement is a very reputable shop. But remember, if they are expensive retail, they are expensive wholesale. Just save your pennies up, bite the bullet and get what you want.

Alternatively, you can hold out for a bargain...you will be joining the ranks of lots of folks that are doing the same thing. If and when these wheels come available, they will be snapped up, and they won't be cheap.

Just call Wheel Enhancement and put it on your credit card...get R dun!

FWIW, I was quoted $2400.00us for a new set last fall from W.E.

good choice with the MY02 5 spokes. imo, they are the best looking wheels on a 993...i just can't justify (yet!) getting new wheels when there is nothing wrong with the ones i have.

I have the 18" 997 5 spokes. They are also made by BBS. I got them off ebay and they fit no problem on my 95 C2.

Do you have more pics of those 997 5-spokes? I've been giving some thought to those wheels as well. Did you need to use spacers at all?

No spacers. I will have to take more pictures but I'm embarrassed to show my stock US height.
This was the item:

They've gone up... I was quoted around $2,600 for new ones. Gert's price including shipping is just north of $2,400 last I saw (although you'll pay customs on top).

Keep your eye on ebay... that's where I found mine. And remember that the search is half the fun!

I really like the 997 wheels--even more than the MY02 (and I like those a lot).

I actually like the 19" five spoke (non lobster claw) 997 wheels the best but don't really want to move up to 19".

F03 -

Are the 19" 997 5-spokes different than the 18" 997 5-spoke pictures above (other than the obvious diameter )?

They look slightly different. The spoke tapers a bit toward the tip on the 19". The 18" look a bit more porky (I like them remember). The 19" look more ferrariesque.

The 19s are on the right in this picture.
