Default Gas tank buzz/vibration

With the engine running I have a buzz/hum sound at the passenger side of the tank. I can feel vibration in the tank most noticeable on lower left side across from frame member. There isn't a motor or solenoid located in this area. I replaced the fuel filter in case it was messing with the gas flow. No change. I checked under the car front end. Nothing there is making noise. The fuel pump is quiet. 1995 911 C2. Engine runs fine.
Any ideas?

I think there's a blower motor up there somewhere for the cabin air system that can make noise. Maybe one of the rennlisters who have worked on that area of the car can chime in and help more than I was able to........Good Luck

Thanks, I checked the air conditioner blower motors. The sound/vibration is not in that compartment.
The sound reminds me of a motor getting noisy. But a search of the manual parts list and car says
there is nothing there except gas tank. I haven't located the carbon filter but in 95 it was passive.
No valve or solenoid.

Heard the same thing with my car. Car was at the dealer for airbag cel so I asked them to listen for it also. It is most likely your fuel pump on its way out. I have ordered one to replace it, as you will be left stranded. Hope this helps.

The fuel pump is on the driver side between gas tank and battery. Easy to listen to and feel for vibration. My noise is on the pasenger side in front of the fuse/relay box. The fuse /relay box is also easy to check. The fuel level assembly is approximately where the noise seems the loudest. I disconnected the connector on top of the assembly and this didn't change the problem. I filled the gas tank and this didn't change the problem. I could remove the fuel level assembly and look in the tank. But its a matter of time till I break something. Maybe this noise is normal. :-)

I'm wrong. It is the fuel pump. Location of fuel pump is under the front passenger side. A plate covering the fuel pump is located at the drain pipe for the air conditioner. I did a search of this list for fuel pump. Previously I searched for gas tank threads. rennlist is much more valuable than the shop manual.
Thanks for the replies.

I would have guessed the squirrel cage fan motor behind the passenger side pollen filter was funky. Wrong again.
