Question What is the best tire for the 993 RS Speedline wheels?

I am about to get a set of the sought after (for me) 993 RS Speedline 18 inches wheels for my 6.000 miles polar silver 993!!!
Sizes are 8 x 18 and 10 x 18...

I guess the tires sizes are:

225/40 18 for the front and 265/35 18 for the rear

Anyone could confirm to me the best tire sizes for those wheels and help me finding the best available tires for them. The idea is to keep the car 1995 look... not a racey updated ready to kill car

Any help on choosing the best set up will be welcome!!

TIA,

Freddy

tyre sizes are what I run on my 8.5 and 10x 18's and are correct IMHO. I would go for SO2's personally, but this is a very subjective topic....basically any premium brand tyre I guess - whatever you prefer..... Nice wheels those.....!

Oh, ouch! Painfully beautiful rims! Envy alert!!!

Yes, the 225/265 are a good choice, and the stock size for the 8 x10x18s. I'd personally like to get 235 or 245 up front, and 285s in the rear. I've seen it on a NB so I know it can be done, but that's up to you. Congrats on the lovely wheels! And don't forget to post pics.

Do not under any circumstance buy Pirellis. I have them on my car and after 2 rear sets, I have not managed to get 2 of equal rolling circumference. So the car pulls left on acceleration and pulls right on deceleration. Total tire error is measured at 2 cms.

Pirelli will not cover the costs either... not their fault it seems. However, the Bridgestone SO2A's are a great tire.

Nice rims by the way. I know where to find a similar set

That is a huge difference. As I suggested to you at Spa last year, hand me the keys and an empty parking lot, and I will return you equal circumference tires in <5 minutes.

I would use 285s on the rear, if for no other reason than the extra protection for the wheels! Plus the extra grip.

I've got 9 & 10 x18 Speedlines w/ 225/40 & 265/35, I think that I will put 235/40 and 275/35 next time mostly because of the 9" front.

The only real down side of 275/35 vs 265/35 is the negative effect on gearing.

285/30 does not have that issue but has it's own , ie you would want a 245/35 on the front which is going to be pretty tight.

I went from S02s to PS2, and the improvement in ride, road noise and handling was amazing. Even though I went up from 225/285 to 235/295s, the ride still was much better. Worth the expense. My Speedlines are 9s and 11s, and the S02s had no side protection for the wheels. The Michelins have a substantial protection rib near the rim edge.

I was searching the tirerack website and they do not have the PS2 available on 285/30 18... is it missing in their stock or don't they produce this size?
I will not any other mod on the car... but searching around I found a nice picture of a Cab with these wheels Can't wait to see them on my car!!
