Default Why do we like to look at our cars?

Personally, I'm spellbound.

Why do you like to LOOK at your car?

Every Rennlister will love YOUR pics.

I just bought my car & I'm locked into the process of "making it mine".

I'll post pics soon. I'm lagging, but trying... Seats are next!

I don't know. Every day I walk out to the garage I stare at her like the first time. I think it's the curves and the fact that nothing else looks anything like it. Pure automotive art.

I have a major problem. I put a car cover over mine to minimize the dust coverage. Then I want to look at it all the time. Some conflicts (like the Middle East, or the Balkans) can never be resolved. In my case, it's a black 993 and grey dusts....Sighhhh....

Curvaceous eye candy, flowing lines, purposeful stance, efficiency in motion...
That's my baby!

Why do we like to look at our cars?

Because they (993s) are such an honest expression of form following function aesthetically. A thing fit for its purpose is a thing of beauty and magnificence. It is also awe inspiring. Ever gaze in awe at a fighter airplane? Nothing on that machine that is unnecessary. No hype. No trendiness. Just honest functional form. Take a gander at a Gothic cathedral....take a longer look at it and notice how it is built. It took one hundred years to cut out of blocks of stone. 100 years! Much of its form is dependent on function, and style came out of that function. The 993 is IMO the epitome of the evolution of the 356 which was born of the Beetle. You say the Beetle is lowly and humble? Think again. It served longer than any other such machine in history. The product of some independent thinking given time to EVOLVE into the grandeur that is the 993. Why wouldn't you stop to gaze at it? Especially knowing its function. Awe inspiring. Take a look at an egg. Think you can do better design than that for its function? I don't think so.

I forgot to mention... I bought my car 100% stock.

How am I doing on "making it mine"? (Signature chronicles the journey....)

These cars are dreams come true. My infatuation started in 1967 when I was a junior in high school.

It's a visually artistic transporter, individually packaged and molded to please its owner in a spectacular way.

I don't really talk to the car but when I open the garage door I yell "chubby!" And want to give her a big hug. 2 more weeks than i will wake her from her winters nap. Cain't wait to drive my chubby.

Rav,
Is that 10,500 TOTAL miles on the car? Did you purchase brand new? If so, it sounds like a garage queen to me

So I'm not the only one who has to take one last peek in the garage every night before heading up to bed? My excuse is to "make sure the garage door is closed."
