I talk to mine, too. And I have CPs problem with it being covered. This weekend when my g/f was taking a nap I went out to the garage, uncovered her (the 993), and sat in her for a while... I NEED spring!

It's definitely the closest thing to the automotive equivalent of a beautiful woman.

it isn't just us owners that like looking at our cars. i have gotten a rediculous # of compliments on my car. one co-worker told me he loved having my car in the parking lot to look at when he pulled in the morning. two weeks ago i was filling up at a gas station when a girl walked out, said my car was beautiful and asked me if i would take her for a ride some night. the 911's appeal seems to span borders, demographics, gender and every other way you can segment society.

I like to look at our cars because to me they are the ultimate expression of the 911 icon. They are everything a 911 should be. The shape is organic. It demands attention without being annoying. Everyone I know, including perfect strangers like my car. Even a well know Porsche hater at work had to admit that of all the 911s to come out of Stuttgart, the 993 type was the best looking with the cleanest lines. Not to be a snob but in my opinion none of the 911s before or after were able to accomplish what the 993 did (997s come close I think). IN fact the ONLY thing better than looking at it is driving it!!! I get my car back tommorow (from the body shop) I have to admit I feel like kid on Christmas eve!!

Yeah i've done that too. Its relaxing.

In my opinion-

These cars are a tangible manifestation of passion. Lines than evoke feeling, the smells, the sounds, the sensation of movement, everything that is associated with these cars is immediately summoned in your mind when you catch sight!

Even when i see a neglected Porsche, i at least smile, if not some extra observation. Other people don't understand why some "random car on the road" can excite me, or brighten my day. Its because they have never had the experience and dont have the associations linked to the visual cues that many of us have with these cars. Oh well!

Alex got it correct. Yup! The epitome of 911s is the 993. Prior to that it was the 911 2.7L RS lightweight, and that car is still an icon. The 993 is the evolutionary culmination of the series beginning with the 356, with the 996 being a hiccup. No offense, but it is going to be a feat to top the 993, if it ever happens.

Of course you may notice I also have some emotion for other P car models, but that is not the topic of this thread.
