Mr. Clifton,
That's a very desirable color and excellent price for the year and mileage. I hope it finds a good home soon.
Just being nosy, why are you selling, and what's the replacement?
Thanks and good luck.

Thank you all. I gave it 30 days at $42,000. I have had a little interest. One guy had it inspected yesterday and did not buy it. Several hundred dollars for a clean inspection and he doesn't buy? Oh well. I had an offer of $39,000 today and he is coming back with the cash. I'll believe it when I see it. It is never sold until someone is counting money in front of you on your dining room table.
I am going in a different direction right now. My kids are racing flat track motorcycles down in the valley and I will buy one of those motor homes with a garage in the back. In a few years I will get a 997 GT3.

Sold for $39,000 cash. I believe the days of $40k + for the narrow body are over. I had a lot of tire kicking low ballers telling me what Kelly Blue Book prices are blah, blah. Then you get the calls from the “I know what the market is” idiots. The truth is, a narrow body in a desirable color in near perfect condition is worth about $39,000 with low mileage. Still pretty good for a ten year old car. If the Silicon Valley economy comes back (who knows when) prices might go up around the Bay Area. Just thought you’d like to know.

Mr. Clifton,
You already knew that. The mass-market buyers do not appreciate/pay for a pristine sample. If you have patience and staying power, then you can wait for the real enthusiast (likely not a local guy) to find your car and pay the asking price. However, that's a long ardous road.
When my PO was selling his RUF BTR, he faced the same problem as you just did. It took him 7 months before I came along and grabbed the car from him. Both of us counted ourself lucky. When it comes time for me to sell my RUF, I fully expect a thousand calls telling me my car is worth at most $30k.
Your buyer is a truely lucky guy.
