Hi, I have a set of 17" cup wheels for the NB that I use for the track.
Traditionnaly I run MPSCs in 225 45 17 and 255 40 17.
I want to go to a large size, unfortunately MPSCs dont come in 235 or 265 so the next sizes for 17' wheels is:
245 40 17 and 275 40 17.
A couple questions:
1 will these fit on the cup wheels?
2 The diameter difference between these 2 tires is almost an inch so will this throw the ABS off?
3 Am I better off to stick to 225 and 255?
Thanks in advance, I am trying to order these this week for the event in Fontana.

Run what you have. As I remember, the MPSC are a bit wider than other comparable size tires, and they have given me rear fender lip rubbing problems I have not gotten with other tires (yes, the fender lips are rolled). Might get this with fatter tires.
Just learn to drive the car.

I've been thinking the same (I want bigger rubber!).
I think bigger problem (than diameter) is cup rim widths which are too small for those tyre sizes.
We need bigger wheels...

Check under "specs" for each tire on Tire Rack. There you will find all of the dimensions for each tire, including tread width and recommended rim widths. I would run the 225s/255s, as I do with my back-up 17s.

That is until I can locate a set of used 18s.

There used to be 265/35 x17 that would be perfect, they were used on 959s for instance, but they are either NLA or being parceled out to a select few 959 owners.
Both Michelin and Bridgestone offered them
