Default mini blower on climate control unit

Today has been the first really warm day since I bought the 95 C2. After I shut the car down I noticed that a faint noise from the CCU. It sounded like a running fan or blower and I also felt a air movement coming from the unit face. This behavior continued for several minutes. I pulled the CCU and noticed a small blower attached to the back of the the CCU was operating, even with no power going to the car. Is this a problem? If I let it continue will it eventually turn itself off or is there some kind of sensor that has failed? I disconnected the power to the blower to prevent draining the battery in case it is a malfunction.
Thanks,
Jim S.

My car's PO thought it was the clock. I guess he didn't notice it got quiet after a while, or when he first entered the car.

I was freaking out on this one. I had just finished fixing my drivers side power window problem (broken wire in the door harness) and then this new noise started. I thought that my electrical repair of the window broke something new under the dash.

It's not normal for the temp sensor suction motor to continually run. The motor
should shutoff in less than 30 seconds if it's functioning properly. If continues to
run, it causes and additional 80 to 100ma extra draw on the battery resulting in
a dead battery in less than a week.

I'll time the event to establish a baseline. If it occurs repeatedly, what is the remedy?
Thanks,

The fan motor mounted on the back of the contol unit, draws cabin air through a tube and across a tempature sensor. It continues to run after the key is turned off. I don't remember how long it takes, but it does turn off. You described normal operation.

This is totally normal and it's something we all worry when we get our cars...regardless of using the AC or not, the noise will stay there for about 10 to 15 minutes after you shut the car off...don't worry about it...
