Default Clutch Pedal question

My '95 had a new RS Clutch, LWF and as it turns out, a new slave cylinder all installed six months, 2000 miles ago.

The clutch pedal sometimes sticks. The clutch is not faulty, its just that the pedal doesn't fully return all the time. Other than annoying me it does not seem to affect how the car drives or runs.

I thought this might be a faulty slave cylinder but I just got the paperwork from the shop that did the work so I think thats out.

Could this be the kinematic lever in the clutch assembly? There is a post at http://p-car.com/diy/pedal/clutchlever.html regarding this.

Thanks for you great insight guys and gals!

I'd say James that since the slave was swapped, and you have a '95 I would suspect the kinematic lever....

Or, you still have air in the system. It is the hardest clutch system to bleed that I have ever seen. Best trick is to raise the tail end of the car when you bleed it.

I would take the floorboard out and make sure that all pivot points are well lubed. Also, take a close look at the rubber boot that covers the clutch master cylinder rod. These have a tendancy to rip.

After this, I would take your time and do a thorough bleed of the clutch slave cylinder. The bleeding is not hard - it's swapping the damn thing out that takes nerves....

Bob,
What is the actual difference with the revised kinematic clutch levers? In pictures I've seen, they appear almost identical.

I have a brand new genuine Porsche kinematic level that I never used (found out mine had already been replaced). Still in the Porsche wrapper from the dealer. $50.00 shipped to the first PM I receive!! Paid 63.00

Kinematic lever will fix it, but what Andreas said is right. If you take the floorboard out and lube the linkages all the way across you can buy yourself a little time. will still collapse but will return more often.

David - could you tell me if the part number on the wrapper is the same number as on the lever itself?
The reason I ask is that I recently received the "new" lever from Sunset Porsche but I noticed the number on the wrapper ends in 03 but the lever inside has a stamped number that ends with 00.
I phoned Sunset and they had no explanation - they checked another bag they had in stock and had the same discrepancy. I hate to go through the install to find out there is no dif.

Default Sticky Clutch

Replaced the stock silver/gold colored Kinematic lever with the newer version OD green one about 8 months ago and have never had a sticking clutch since. I think P-car has a DIY on this. While you are in there, might as well replace the master cylinder. They are pretty reasonable. Best of luck!
