Best Seat for Rennlist
Hi,
I got myself one of these for my home office, Recaro Speed S on regular Recaro executive chair base. It reclines, tilts, lumbar, etc. Best seat I have ever had for browsing Rennlist.
Enjoy.

Mine was $1,140 including tax. Worth every cent IMHO. Terry may give you a better price.

Hey Pong,
Like I said, don't forget the 5 point with camlock. But if you want to go 4 point and latch-link, I could put in a good word for you with the sanctioning bodies.
...very nice, friend!!!

That's what it takes to live life in the fast lane, my friend.
My old chair was the regular leather chair that kind of tilted forward. My wife complains that she'd slide out the front one day. With her blessing I went looking for a replacement.
I sat in a Recaro Executive chair at a Porsche place and loved it. When I went to Griffins I sat in all of the Recaros he had on the show room floor and the Speed S just felt right. Almost as nice as my A-8s. Terry said he can put any chair on the base so I jumped on it. I love this chair. Hey we only go around once.

H,
This is a Recaro car seat I chose to put on an office chair base. The Recaro Executive chair comes with arms.

If you pick any other chair, then there are no arms. But note that the Recaro executive chair base actually has a flat steel plate with 2 bolt holes on each side that you can mount side arms on the base if you so choose. I am fine with no arms (actually arms are too confining for me) so that's what my chair looks like.
Griffin is one of the largest seller of Recaro seats so he has good selections in his show room. Mind you that none of these seats are mounted on a base, so if you expect to just bring one home on the same day, ain't gonna happen. If you buy the regular Recaro Executive chair you may get lucky and find one in his store. Any other chair you'll likely have to order, and he'll assemble it for you.
His store is on San Peblo between University Ave. and Gilman. I went to Cal so that's my old haunt. Brought back happy memories.
Good luck.

LOL! Talk about memories...I went to Cal as well. Well, that's at least what the NCAA hoops announcers use to call us when we were in the NCAA tourney back in the late 80's! I actually went to UCSB and they kept calling us "Cal Santa Barbara"!!
Anyway, yeah, I've seen the Recaro Executive chair many times actually and I don't like the look of it. I really like the look of yours better!
I may have to take some time and cruise on over to Berkeley this week! Thanks again!

H,
It's more than just looks. The Recaro Executive chair just does not sit right by me. You need to spend some seat times at Griffins to see which seat suits you best.
I was at Cal between 1969 to 1973 (BS, MS Civil Engineering). What years were you there?
