I believe the Fabspeed website says the Supercups are smog legal, but has anyone had any issues passing the smog test in CA with Supercups?
Thanks
Thanks

They are technically not smog legal as they cannot pass the visual test (IIRC they do not have a CARB sticker)...but they will pass the emissions test. Whether you pass or not will depend on whether the tech realizes they are aftermarket. I've passed twice w/ mine, the last time two mos ago.

Joe:
When I took my car into the referee station at Skyline College, they just tested it on the tail pipe. They didn't even rev the engine. So, may be as long as you emission is within spec, then referee station is worth a try. It's only $38.95 anyway...
Good luck.

Thanks guys!
I'm thinking it won't be a problem since most places don't even know what they are looking at when you bring in a 911, but i just wanted to check others experiences.

Back in early 2004, I passed here in the SF Bay Area with Supercups on my MY95 993. I did have the baffles in when I ran these pipes.
I would think the SC's are considered a "cat back" system. Maybe a little loud, but...

I just added the real cup car pipes and the sound is awesome. Sure it will pass emissions but david is correct, they are not stock and a simple look will expose them. Good luck though!

Speaking of Supercups, looks like Fabspeed is now a Rennlist sponsor: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-gt3-forum/251404-welcoming-the-newest-rennlist-sponsor-o-fabspeed-motorsport.html

I had my smog check a few months ago at a referree station (Community college) due to code readiness issues.
This was the easiest Smog check I have ever had...... hardest part was not crying when the kid kept stalling my car due to the LWFW and frying my clutch trying to get onto the ramps.
The Referree who is teaching kids how to do smog checks looked at the Supercups and asked if those were stock. I answerred they were a limited edition exhaust that Porsche installed on these cars as an option, he really liked the sound
