I sold Old Yeller. the new owner picks it up on Thursday. I am doing another and just getting the parts in line before I buy the car. Procurring the parts is the thing that takes the longest. I have already bought the TT tail (OEM) and now the sport seats. Time to do another cab modification. Comming to a post near you soon.

Finding the car is easy (I have a Dealers License). Sourcing the parts is what takes forever.

Mike -
Those wardrobes boxes are the ticket - you do not need to bolt them to anything. Shrink wrap and peanuts - the seats will be folded forward to fit. UPS or FEDEX

I have to agree with Mike. I've re-built seven cars and getting the right parts for the right price is always a quest. TT tail and sports seats are a nice start.

Chuck W:

Sport seats and the TT tail are the hardest items to come by, and the most expensive. the TT bumper, S ducts, clear marking lamps and sideskirts are easier.

Mike,

Do you just build the cars up and sell them or do you enjoy them for a period of time and then sell them?

Wow Mike . . . seems you barely even got to drive Old Yeller. Since you were searching for a personalized plate for her . . . I would have thought you had plans to keep her around for a while. What happened? Did she cheat on you?

SC Momentum:

I had Old Yeller in a friend's showroom for the winter. He told me that the only way he would do it, so he wouldn't be swamped with requests for a price, was to put a number on it. I told him to put $41,900.00 on the car not thinking anyone would buy it. 4 days later he got $41.9 for the car. I had to sell it.

Scott 1996 993c2:

You're right I only drove the car 26 miles. The plan was to keep it, but once a person offers full purchase price you can't say no. I will be doing another one though. It will be hard to see Old Yeller leave. The new owner is picking the car up on Thursday. The nice thing is I turned him on to Rennlist. So I am sure we will be hearing from him once he joins.

Scott:

I love driving them, but I almost like the process of turning one around even more. Now that's strange. I will keep one for myself one day. this is the hardest one to let go. I never thought anyone would pay that price for the car, but the new owner said that was the exact car he was looking for. he was going to buy on e and do the conversion himself until he found mine already done. Go figure that was just my luck.
