Default Leave the car in 2nd when parked, stop 2nd gear crunch

I tried what PCAR964 suggested and put the 993 into 2nd gear while it was parked on Thursday. Today when I went to drive it, Voila! the second gear crunch was not there. I suppose there could be a problem with lubrication when the tranny is cold, and this technique remedies that. Sounds odd, but it works, and that is good enough for me..

it did not work for me (although mine isn't really a *crunch*; it isn't that severe)

mine wasn't a crunch either, just stiff. Any transmission gurus out there want to help shed some light on this?? Anyone?

Interesting - it worked for me and mine was only stiff too (no crunch or grind) when cold...
