3 spoke steering wheel....AGAIN..!
Sorry, folks..... search mode is not functional for this query. Been trying for a couple days. Don't know what the deal is.
I'm ready to buy a 3 spoke steering wheel for my 993 C4S 6 speed.
The AJ wheel has some 'perforations' that I'm not all that familiar with and I don't particularly like the way the wheel looks compared with the stocker Porsche 3 spoker.
I'd like opinions and photogs of AJs vs Carnewal (which is BIGGER buck$) vs stock Porsche wheels.
I appreciate your responses.

It's all a matter of taste. Many people love the Ruf/Carnewal/AJUSA wheels. I think it looks bulky and odd. Now, I admit, I've never had one in my hands but based only on asthetics, I prefer the stock 996 three spoke wheel.
I'm hoping I can pick one up in Germany.

sorry in advance for the OT...has anyone modified the buttons on a tip wheel (either 3 or 4 spoke) to control something other than a tip tranny? there was a post sometime ago by someone who modified the buttons to control his stereo.
thanks

Hello Bagger, If you are interested I have a black 996 three spoke steering wheel for sale. I bought it as a favor for an other rennlister who changed his mind afterwards. I ended getting stuck with it. I already have one on my car. You can have it for what I paid for it...Thanks in advance..AL

I also prefer the look of of the 996 3 spoke, but I find it less comfortable than the 4 spoke. Harder to grip, more slippery, less give to the surface. Anyone here noticed that and found a way to treat it?

If you're having a problem gripping the wheel, try using Lexol Leather Conditioner on the wheel. This is not greasy and it's not like Armor-All (obviously never use that on the wheel!). Use sparingly, let it sit (in the garage with the car windows open overnight) and the next morning it will be dry and slightly softer to the touch, i.e. easier to grip. Don't use too much though, a little goes a long way.

It's expensive new, you're talking around $430 for the wheel alone, about the same for the separate airbag module. That's $700+ for the whole shabang. Used they're going for around $500 including the airbag.
They're very nice wheels, the 3 spokers.
