Seriously, note how many responses refer to "front protection bar" or "FPB" or "Carnewal's bar". This is cheap and you need it right away if you are driving this car on the street. It's easy to install and protects you from your own stupidity while parking, entering driveways, etc.

All mods listed are great, so I won't repeat.

One good "bling" mod is powder coating the brakes red - did I and absolutely love it!

Hi

I am new to all this so apologies for my ignorance. There is much written about the suspension options, but what about the steering? Does the 993 not have a lot of rubber on the steering arms? The RS ones have a lot less and are not expensive. Why do I not see this being mentioned as a worthwhile mod? After the suspension it is number two on my list. Am I missing something?

All the best

LOWER (lower/better suspension)
LOUDER (aftermarket or modified original mufflers)
IN YOUR FACE UGLY(swap out clunky 4-spoke wheel)
the only other must haves are:
Lots of gas money
An open road (or track)

+1. While not fun or sexy, preserving your purchase is top priority. After getting all your maintenance up to date, the FPB is hard to beat as bang for your buck. Also- a black Rennline dead pedal addresses a blatant factory oversight and looks OEM.

Eventually, we all replace the steering rack, but that's more of a maintenance item, I think steering might be one of those things that's not worth messing with. Remember--it already started as one of the best sports cars in the world. We do take some of the squirm out of the front end with Walrod poly A-arm bushings, but again, that's not steering,

Must haves:
Bilstein PSS9s or 10s w/ ROW MO30 Sways
RSR Mufflers
Euro Turbo Front Bumper w/Turbo S Ducts & Fogs or Splitters like TheOtherEric has
Speedlines or Kinesis Wheels... anything but Cup IIs
Short Shift kit
The above will make your 993 perform great, sound great and look great!

Optional:
Steve Wong's Chip
996 3 spoke steering wheel
Aluminum Pedal set and Dead Pedal
Stainless Steel Sills
RS shift ****

Its really interesting reading everyones list -- Andreas forgot "xenit dip every part of car that is not body color" :P

I would recommend three things for starters:
0. DE days / comp school to learn how to drive your 993 (perhaps you already know this...)
1. Suspension
2. Cargraphics or other full size oil cooler on the left side.

WRT #2, I fell that its really really important if you have a daily driver that can get caught in traffic to have this. These cars are more oil cooled than air cooled, and I am really suprised that it isin't on more folks list.
