It's easy to check your harness, this is the proceedure. If you VIN and harness fit the bill, then get the harness replaced.

Attachment B
Work Procedure:
Follow the steps below and refer to the enclosed excerpt from the Technical Manual at the end of this bulletin for the actual work procedure.

1. Check the part number of the engine wiring harness. Use the criteria in attachment "A" and Parts required to determine if the wiring harness needs to be replaced. The work procedure is abbreviated below in steps 2 to 5.

2. If the information is not legible on the harness tag, the harness needs to be replaced. Replace the harness then go to step 6.

3. If the production date code of the harness is January 5th, 1996 or later, regardless of the harness part number, the harness has already been replaced. Do not replace the harness. Go to step 6.

Note: The Europeans use a different date nomenclature than we do. The month and day are reversed. The production date on the harness will be shown as follows: dd.mm.yy.

4. If the part number on the harness matches up with a part number listed in the table shown, and the production date code is before January 5th 1996, the harness needs to be replaced. Replace the harness then go to step 6.

5. If the part number on the harness does not match up with a part number listed in the table, the harness does not have to be replaced. Continue with step 6.

6. Enter the campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance book.

Important! The adapter for the secondary air switch over valve is currently in short supply. If the adapter wire for the fresh air flap is not needed for the engine, save it for future repairs. See Table 1.

I called the "local" dealer in Cincinnati and they told me the recall had been performed so I am good on that anyway.

I called PCNA and there is no time limit at the moment, it's not actually a recall, but rather a campaign, meaning it should be repaired when you take the car to the dealer for service. So if you don't visit your local dealer for service or repair it's possible you may not even know about it. Now, my question is what is involved with repalcing it? anyone?

Ok...ignorant question....

My VIN is WP0AA2995TS322415 and I have a '96 C4S.

Looks like I do not fall in the VIN range for the service bulletin. Can you guys confirm I am reading this correctly?

Thanks.
