VERTEX HID'S Ready for sale $225.00 + shipping
As promised I called Vertex this morning and verified the group buy price. The price will be $225.00 plus shipping. Just to verify with everyone he has:
6000K
8000K
12000K
NO 4000K or 4300K
He has
2 kits 6000K
1 kit 8000K
3 kits 12,000K
Charles does have more kits on the way and he will honor the price of $225.00 if they go on backorder. The best way to order these kits are to call Charles directly at (toll free) 866-668-0660 EXT 225.
I was also asked to verify the bulb numbers. They are "D2S". I installed the 6000K in my car last week and it was a true plug and play set up. You can PM me or call Charles when you get the kit and he or I can assist you with the install. Charles walked me through it in about 1 minute. It was that easy. have a good day.

I bought the Vertex kit a few months ago. The install was quite easy.
Probably the hardest part was bending the clip that holds the bulb in place. The HID bulb is quite a bit wider than the OEM one.
Charles is definitely the person to speak with. I found the others at Vertex not very knowledgeable or service oriented. Charles is great.
No afilliation, blah, blah, blah.

I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but I highly recommend that anyone taking part in this group buy first make sure you're ok with bulbs of this color rating. Even the 4300k bulbs are more blue than the OEM bulbs, so the bulbs in this group buy will be rather purple by comparison. It's definitely not for everyone, so just be aware.
And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Gordo993: Awesome glad this worked out for you. Charles helped me qute a bit on all my parts I just wanted to return the favor to those at Rennlist and Vertex.
Sooner: Good deal. Charles is very easy to work with
theOtherEric: I am not sure the intensity differences between the 4300K and the 6000K All I know is when I installed mine I felt the purple was minimal. This IMHO though being never had the factory HID's. I feel for $225.00 it is a economical upgrade. I love them and just wanted to pass on a good deal to all others. Your comments should be noted though by others thinking of this install. have a good day

Here is a pic of my car installed with the 6000K HID's. I feel the purple/blue color is minimal. look at the pic and see for yourself. Although a picture sometimes doesn't accuartely represent real life I feel it is pretty close to what you will get. Like I said in my previous posting in reference to TheOtherEric's comments. You should consider his comments prior to ordering

Comparing the color of HID bulb's is like comparing the color of diamonds. They all look great until you line them up next to each other.
A 6000K bulb looks great when you are by yourself and the light is great when driving. When you are next to a car with 4300K bubls or the OEM litronics, your light will seem bluer\purpler (sp?). Is that a big deal? Everybody has to answer that one for him/herself. I myself will probably get in on this group buy. If it bothers me later I can always swap out the bulbs (negates the savings though!).
Thanks to Mike for arranging this whole deal. But I have to admit, I curse him every time he posts a picture of his newly polished car. I'm dreaming about how good my gaurds red car would look if that was done to it!!!

Can you guys please clarify - are these kits for guys with litronics on 993s and upgrading the bulbs. Can the poor unfortunate souls with halogens participate or am I still stuck with silverstars?

Money, time, and patience. Old Yeller is going to my mechanic Tuesday for a complete, and I mean complete, service. he is taking off the calipers so I can get them powder coated, new wheels and tires, pads and rotors, everything being changed or serviced; plugs, wires, caps and rotors, belts, fluids, filters, Carnewal FPB, steering rack brace......You get the idea. I am close. Everything comes back from the paint shop on Thursday. If the Porsche Gods are willing I may have pics of the finished product on Friday, but I digress to the 1st sentence; money, time and patience.

You guys are too quick - just talked to Charles and hes out of everything except 12k. I am on a waiting list though. Hes taking orders for everything including 4, 4.3 and 6k. The lights should be in stock in 2 weeks. He says that the difference in look between 4 and 6k are very minimal... The 12k stands out more. Does anyone have the 12k installed?
Also, do you loose high beams with this upgarde?

You DO NOT loose the high beams, although they won't do much as far aslighting the road due to the intensity of the HID's. You will probably never use the highs again. Cahrles will honor the price of $225.00 if they go on backorder. That's great he is doing the 4000K and the 4300K I was under the impression he was not able to get those. For those wanting the 4000K and the 4300K here is your chance at a pretty good price. It is my understanding that the 12K has a more purple/blue hue than the lower Kelvin rating bulbs. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

12000K is insane. Should be reserved exclusively for ricerockets.
edit- I suppose i'll put some reasoning behind that. This temperature is so blue that your light output is significantly diminished over even stock halogens since blue is not nearly as efficient a colour as white.

You are correct - hes honoring the 225 deal. He said that he will have all versions in stock in 2 weeks. However, he did not reserve a particular temp for me... Maybe I misunderstood what he meant by having "everything" in stock in 2 weeks.
