No need to pay $600 for that fix.... If you drive up to my house in Chino hills you can have it done for free.....

The process however is lengthy as I take the driver's seat out and disconnect the DME (just in case), and then the battery prior to welding.

Robin -- What a wonderful offer -- I just might take you up on that -- but I would insist on reimbursing you for time and materials. I'll send you an email through your link on p-car.com.

I'm really grateful for such an offer -- thanks for all you do.

There was a nearly identical thread a couple weeks ago where I and I believe other(s) describe paying $100 - $200 for welding like Robin's. There are pics in that thread too. If I could weld I'd have done it myself.

I was on that other thread. The dealer charged me $120 CDN.

Mark,

I am not sure how I would calculate the material cost....

416L Stainless steel filler rod
Argon shielding gas
220Volt for TIG welder
Tungsten electrodes
Die grinder to grind off paint

An opportunity to melt and fuse parts of your 993 --------- priceless --------

Robin - thanks for posting the pic. It looks like your weld isn't much more than a tack and not a full seam top and bottom. Good info (as always!)
