Looking for big oval tips
Hey guys, I'm looking for some big oval exhaust tips for my '97 C4S. I called the local P dealer price was $800 which I think is ridiculous. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Or try some of the aftermark ones that are listed in this forum--try a search for exhaust tips.

Try eBay, maybe the RL ads, or those on other forums. They're kinda hard to come by used OEM. Some of the knock offs are good quality . . . and some are not. Make sure the fit is right for your wide body car if you buy used.

I believe they sell their version of wide ovals...sponsor too I believe, also Ger at Carnewal has them...they are never cheap...and the NB VS WM, there may be a difference in size/fit...as indicated above.

well.. I have a set of big oval techquipment tips for widebody on ebay for sale... oen fo the tips have some slight damage but anyone with an Irish screw driver ability should be able to fix it up.
I personally would have fixed them up and used them if they were for a narrow body car.

These are listed by Vertex, one of our sponsors. Anyone have any experience with them? (Vertex and/or the tips)

To save cost (same muffler for both the narrow and wide body NA cars), Porsche didn't design a new muffler for the wide body cars instead just used a different offset in the muffler tip to accommodate the wider rear bumper exhaust tip opening on the wide body cars. So if you take the exhaust tips off on a widebody car you will see that the muffler pipe that the exhaust tips connects to really don't line up with the bumper opening.
On the turbo car since the all the exhaust system had to be redesigned for the turbo pluming they just designed the muffler so that the outlet that connects to the exhaust tip would line up with the widebody opening right from the start. So the turbo can use just the regular exhaust tip without the offset.
