Default Old Yeller-Powder coating brakes question

I have heard theories on this and I would like to have some first hand knowledge if available.

Question: If I send my 95 993 calipers out to be sand blasted and powder coated will I run the risk of seal damage due to the heat of the baking process? Has anyone done powder coating with the seals in? If so has there been any issues?

The only other way to paint the calipers red is to have them sandblasted and painted. But I have heard that this method does not last as long, and powder coating is the best.

I really do not want to rebuild the calipers. Any help is greatly appreciated. One day I will get this car done!

Yes, if a person is careful, they can be blasted without disassembly, which is what I prefer. Depending on the blaster, media and pressure, the bead will bounce off the rubber dust boots and not cause any harm. If the boots are cracked or split, they need to be replaced anyhow.

Here is a picture from a few years ago of a batch of calipers I got from one guy alone! All completely disassembled, stripped and refinished. It was grueling!

I posted a simular question last July. Several Rennlisters talked me into painting them. After several thousand miles (my 993 is a daily driver) and 5 months they still look great. Here is a posting of my results.

Chris,
What on earth did the guy need 5 sets of calipers for?

Mike,
The renovation work to your Cab is amazing - keep up the pictures!
