Aftermonths of lurking I am ready to buy. Does anyone know of a decent 993 in the 25k to 30k range? No converts or targas and mileage not an issue. Preferably from a private owner.
How about colors, options? Years? **no yellow, green, purple (red..not sure off, cops like red cars on I-270..been there..but then again may just get another red if it's the right car)
You considering Tip or only 6-speed?** doesn't matter.
You want specific colors? ** black or grey would be nice, not a must
You want a C2 or a C4 or either? ** either
You want one 100% stock or one modded? ** this would be daily driver, so stock or light mods is fine
You are probably looking at a 95 or 96 C2 in that price range to be honest... and more towards stock and higher mileage..** that's fine, in no real rush. Properly maintained higher mileage cars I'll be open to[/QUOTE]
May sell mine,95 coupe new paint,clutch,steering rack,harness,wires,speakers,gauge faces,RSR mufflers,rotors,sway bars,shocks,splitter,ect...
82,000 miles drove it 1000 miles last year.
$36,000.00
I looked at a lot of cars. Three weeks ago bought a polar silver 993 6 speed coupe with 20k on the odo for $28k. The car was scratched by an awning that broke during one of our stoms this summer. It needs a paint job. I was worried that the mileage was not accurate even though the carfax checked out. Just had my shop change all the belts and fluids. With the exception of the oil, everything else was original. My mechanic feels that the mileage is accurate. The PO has owned it since 98 and didn't drive it or do much of anything with it (he is 75 yo). I saw a few cars a few grand more with higher mileage, but with better paint and maintainence records. With patience you will find one. I would always prefer to buy from a Rennlister or a PCA member. I would avoid ebay if possible. Prices tend to be higher than local, and a lot of scams. When the prices were reasonable, there were problems.
