i bought a new obd11 scanner today cause my check engine light came on again
when i plugged it in and read the scan it said 0 which meant all my systems were ok
yet the check engine light is still on with out a code showing on the scanner ??
any ideas ?? what and why ?
i bought the 3030 OBD2 Car Reader from equus innova rather than the 3100 OBD II Code Reader.
what is the difference between a car reader and a code reader ??

With my scanner I have to have the engine running for it to function properly, even though the directions say the key should be turned but the engine not on. When I call Actron they say with some models the engine does have to be running. Maybe that's the problem you're having.

thanks ron. i know the scanner from autozone worked on my car
so i am just gonna return this one and buy one of them
