as we are registered on this thread, could you also post here so I'd be sure not to miss the info?
If it's not to far up North in the UK and my occupation allows, I could take that occasion to make another trip in your country.
This is a multimap link to show you where. If you can read these posts you can navigate to the "Rennlist Discussion Forums" root at the top of the page and then dive into the 964 discussion forum or go via the "Air/Oil Cooled Technical Discussion Areas" sub-directory and again onto the 964 discussion.
Here is the link and it's The Worcester Pub in Worcester; just off of the A3.
Thanks David, it's well in my operational range! Let me know well in advance when it will happen, so I'll try to positively influence my planning officer :-)
Hey Monique! I just sent you a mail and answered the pm!
I hope that this works, if it does you should be able to see some images of my engine in build, the new catalysts with the otherwise standard exhaust. The car on the rolling road and the overlay of the before and after power curve. 1,450 miles on it and still feeling strong.
Robin, sorry if this has been covered before, but what is that Cat system that you have on there?
Being interested in keeping the car looking and sounding as standard as is possible, i asked Colin at 9M to keep as many stock parts as possible and only use parts that gave performance. (It is cheaper that way). Colin tried the standard system and it did not perform, he then fitted these cats and aftermarket silencers, this gave good power, he then returned to standard silencers and found no power difference between these and the aftermarket ones ( they were popular quality brand).
I am not sure what make the cats are.... they were described to me as 100 cell sports cats. If you need to know i will try to find out.
The interesting part is that, if you are looking for power, change the cats first. I am sure that there will be other restrictions at higher power levels.
My car goes in on Monday (at ninemeister) for the conversion, interested to see what it will make as it is a 1995 non varioram, can i call you for your feedback?

I think that you will get similar results to my engine. Colin has more experience with the non vario ram cars and likes the inlet system. He was going to fit the early, non vario system to my car, but we decided to try the vario ram, and it worked, you may even get a better result than i did.
Are you going for any other work?
What exhaust system are you going with?
Please keep us informed.
Hope that it goes well and you are as pleased with it as I am.
Robin
I am hoping to get a LSD on the group buy and have that fitted as well, otherwise it is just heads and a remap, rings plus some exhaust fettling to mate my cargraphic system to the original headers (see below). i already have Colin's cams and Ti retainers.
I am running a full cargraphic big bore system - headers, 100 cell split cats and cans at the moment, but colin didn't like the headers, when he fitted the cams and did the remap, he reckoned that they robbed the car of ~15bhp (It dyno 305 bhp and 278lbft torque) he suggests we put the orginal headers back on and mate them up to the cargraphic cats (only prob is the cargraphic system is Gillet and the original headers are Bischoff - anyone got a 2nd hand pair of Gillet headers lying around?).
Last time it was at 9m it had the LWF flywheel and clutch - i have the same stalling issue as you, but the ISV tweak, togther with a ECU "relearn" has helped a lot.
It already has - deep breath -
Big red front brakes
RS rear brakes
RS front and rear anti roll bars
18" 996 lightweight wheels (only just got these :-))
PSS9's
GT2 rear subframe mounts
RS engine and geargbox mounts
RS alignment
front strut brace
short shift
front protection bar
HID upgrade
996 handbrake and gearshift upgrade
Recaro seats
turbo indicators front and rear
oh and its midnight blue and I run Michelin cups during the summer!
so not a lot left to do :-)
Thanks for the PM, will call you tomorrow for a chat
Thanks John
Good choice of upgrades. I would like to go for an engine mount upgrade, bigger brakes, and possibly some firmer suspension next.
Your car will be a very fast machine, you seem to have your priorities sorted, is it used mostly on the road or the track?
