Is there any way that "first time viewers" are immediately directed to the FAQ page or similar on their first visit or when registering. Having to read the page and click agree to continue? Some will just scroll to the bottom and click'n'go but not all.

just my 2 cents

Thanks Kelly. I'm fairly new to this board and don't know any of the history. Anyway, one of my observations, as a newbie, is the frequent use of letters that stand for something ... but I often have no clue what. For example, I think I know what IMHO stands for. But some of them ... as I say, no clue. So .... I'll ask you this. What does FNG stand for?

Mark - I was thinking and thinking ... and I can guarantee I would NEVER have come up with that! I guess I'm a FNG. Heck, I didn't even know.

For a list of internet acronyms:
http://www.magicpub.com/netprimer/acronyms.html

Of course, we have our own set of TLA's. E.g.-

DMF = dual mass flywheel
VCG = valve cover gaskets
CEL = check engine light
RSR = Robin Sun's mufflers
FPB = front protection bar
ISV = idle stabilizer valve
OBC = on-board computer
SSK = short shift kit
VC = viscous coupling
SAI = secondary air injection
NB = narrow body (i.e. not "S" body)
NA = normally-aspirated

As a fledgling 993er, I can't agree enough with your post. My former and future 993 will definitlely benefit from all this forum's members have to offer. Among the forums which I participate in (motorcycling, road racing, et al), this group of enthusiasts has provided me with more help and insight in the few short weeks I've been a member than the other forums combined. I suspect I'll get to know more of you going forward.

BTW what's a LWF?? (light weight flywheel??) :b

Also one more very (IMO most important): ROW = Rest of World or "Euro" as Gert would say BTW, "Gert", like "fob", is not an acronym! :b

Also most important, along with ROW, is DE (driver's education). It should be a requirement for every 993 owner (esp. N00bs like me )

Nice job. I check this board on a daily basis but still I have no idea where the "old guard" went. NE1 care to share? I've been here since the thread list was emailed to members. I can't even remember how it worked exactly. I do know it has come a long way and seen alot of turnover over the years.
