Found a cheap 96 C2 Cab on Autotrader...
For $16000!? It seems to good to be true (and probably is)... the free CARFax says there are 14 alerts (gulp)... could anybody with the 'capability to' run me a more detailed search (assuming it's free for you...)?
Looks clean, nice, well cared for. The red interior is a little flashy, but I'm betting it could be played down a little bit with the right replacements. But we all know about the frauds every day!!! on Autotrader, so I'm trying to be careful.
Click the linky. Check it out for me, you guys are the experts!

Could be a good deal, but you know what they say about cheap Porsches.
One would have to see the car in person, meet the legal owner and have a super thorough PPI completed, maybe two PPI's just for piece of mind.
If your close enough to see the car in person, spend some time and do so. You may find yourself with a decent example with some cash left over to make it perfect

When the price of a car that's worth around $32000 is being sold for $16000, there's usually not enough time to question it. It's sold withing seconds of being listed. The only way to end up with that kind of a deal would be as a dealer taking it in on a trade, if the engine was cooked or if it was in flood with a title of destruction. Way too good to be true! No expert here, MGV993, but you might preferto pursue this one:

It's astounding how often the same car is being sold by different parties in different venues. I've seen three or so in the last year. Could this just be a separating couple? Even then, you probably wouldn't want the involvement. Internet buying can be a minefield.
Now here's another 'deal':

Is it remotely concievable that this salvage car only has the bumper and tailpipe damge the seller is claiming?

Lets see....the original owner could have had the damage repaired, but elected to "get a check instead" (for the dame repair estimate one would assume) AND have the title changed to a Salvage title???? Sure!

I just noticed the car is in NY, NY, and gives a 405 or 305 area code...I've seen lots of ads like this on Autotrader, and everyone I try to call, has been a fraud. Call up both numbers, I can almost guarantee this is a fraud...the numbers are probably fake. Like the more experienced 993 guys said, this is just way too good to be true!

I just called the number from the Autotrader ad: 406-587-9542. I got the answering machine for some finance co. I guess this was a repo? My guess is they'll claim the $16K is a "typo", judging from the eBay listing w/reserve >$25K.
