thanks
Yes, this is normally the case. There are many threads about this procedure on this site if one searches for them. It would be helpful though if there were more information on the actual problem......

i failed for 5 of the 8 monitors being "not ready"...after running through the driving cycles posted on rennlist (thank you very much), i hooked up my handheld scanner...innova 3100..and it says all the monitors are ready...in reading the posts on this subject, i think my car is ready to get smogged again..but then i've also heard that the scanners arent that accurate and only the station can check if the monitors are really ready...

Easiest way to find out would be to take it back in and get it checked.... hurry while the CEL light is out.

good luck

Check here ( www.systemsc.com/codes.htm ) for insights on 993 OBDII readiness
problems (early OBDII) and the less problematic 993 (late OBDII - '98).

Talking You need someone with a Porsche diagnostic computer

I believe Callas Motorsports has one, Torrance, CA. I know that Hergesheimer Motorsports in Lake Forest has the computer and can address these issues.
