Silver Carrera logo
I lifted part of the black "Carrera" logo on the engine lid, while trying to clean the polish build up around it . Ended replacing it with a genuine silver one (Eric from BumperPlugs supplied it after some emails:no association).
Thought there may be some interest

David - any chance you can measure the larger silver carrera script and perhaps sell it to me?
The 964 carrera badge is larger than the 993 one. I had bought a new silver badge but it is the smaller 993 version and I'd rather swap my black badge for a same-sized silver one.
Thanks.

I am not at home at the moment so cant measure, but from memory its about half as big again as the 993 one.....if you want it, its yours as I will not be mounting it and it is doing nothing at the moment....send me a PM with your address.

Greg,
Use a hair dryer and slowly pull it off. Works great, then I used turtle wax bug n' tar remover to take off the left over adhesive. I believe 3M has the same stuff that removes adhesive residue.

1. make sure car is clean
2. gently heat badge with hairdryer
3. using dental floss, gently "saw" under the badge to remove
4. remove any residual adhesive with GooGone or similar
5. clay bar area and re-wash to remove residual gunk

I'd send you the smaller (993?) one I'd bought but I sent it back to the seller.

Hi dhicks,
The silver one that is on BumperPlug's web site is for 996's I think, the font is different as well. I emailed Eric and he sent me the exact size for 993's and had a 993 P part number. One thing to watch out for is to measure the exact position of the existing one before taking it off. Removing the gunk and a good polishing will leave almost no shadow of the location on the Arctic Silver at least..

How did you get the "Carrera" ensignia on the side of the car done? It looks great.

David,
I've been toying with this on my black cab - but your "contrast" comment rings true. I think I'll stick with black. There's another thread out there that answers the question "What kind of car do you drive" that addresses "carrera" v "911" v "993". Of the three, "Carrera" is my third option, so why put it in chrome?!
