What a difference a year makes!
I've got one year of ownership under my belt.
The learning curve has flattened some but driving gets better each day.
Picture one: October 2004: First weekend home:
Picture two..... October 2005.
Things done in past 12 months:
- Removed cellular phone installed circa 1995
- Fixed small bits on interior
- Had Engine harness recall done
- Added new floormats
- Replaced fan belts
- Replaced rear hood shocks
- Replaced spark plugs and plug wires
- Replaced upper and lower valve cover gaskets
- Replaced lower valve covers
- Performed SAI Flush..... Cyls No 3 and 6 clogged worst
- Edit: Replaced brake pads and front rotors
- Replaced ballast resistors on oil cooler and AC condenser
- Installed High speed fan override switch
- Installed Bilstein HDs, RoW M030 Springs and sways
- Had windows tinted
- Replaced tie rods
- Had car aligned and corner balanced at Ruf in Dallas
- Met pguy (Dung) and FisterD a few months ago.
Things on the to-do list:
- Add FPB
- Find right 18" wheels
- Begin DE
Whew, this has been a busy year. Loving every minute!
Great cars, great people!
Most of all, thanks to the knowledge base that is Rennlist!! I wouldn't have done it without all the info and support from this community.
Any others out there with similar history this year?

What is the SAI Flush and did you do it yourself or have it done?

Sorry Scott, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Nice ride!
It has begun for both of us!

Having a Cab and a Coupe is indeed the best of both worlds.
It is amazing how 'cushy' a stock 993 (i.e. my wife's Cab) feels when compared to a DE-Prepped 993 (i.e. my Coupe). But then you get out of the Cab and drive any other car and you realize how well the stock 993 handles.

Harvey,
Thanks for your kind words regarding the stock cab. I'm resisting the slippery slope and a little reassurance helps!! Sorry to all the slope-sliders...
Scott C (et al), if I do slip, it will probably be on the Bilsteins per the general consensus of this well-informed board!! and maybe the clear signal lenses! and the turbo front. and HIDs. and (loath to admit it) c_f_e_ c_p holder...
Oh, and another nice thing. I noticed this loose wire down in the vent below the windshield. After significant fishing and cajoling, out popped a switch-wired 12VDC plug!! Now the Escort is plugged in there and the iPod has reclaimed its rightful spot in the cigarette lighter...
did I mention maybe some new speakers...?

Scott - congrats on your 1st year of 993 ownership and with the work done on the car. Regarding the 18" wheels, I think the turbo twists look great on a NB 993. Those 18 x 8 & 18 x 10s fit the fender very well, IMHO.
