I see what you mean..... I certainly agree with you. The face mounted from inside the barrel looksuch better.
In terms of look, it really depends on the lip depth. You can see that the lip on the HRE's are very shallow, making the wheel face look like its poking out. Not a good look IMO. But standard front mounted LM's look just fine.
In my mind, Knight's offsets, lip depth and face mounting is pretty much perfect for a WB 993.
I have these in my garage and I now think I understand the reverse mount. Mine aren't with the center bolted on the face as against having this bolted behind the face.
I might have these refurbished and take off the two tone colour and have them reverse mounted at the same time, when they were on my turbo they required spacers. Might be quite nice to try them on the RS or at least a spare set if I need to get the speedlines refurbished.
Tom - If you reverse mount your rear LM's, the result will be an offset that is too low for you to be able to use on your RS.
Those are 997 GT3 19" wheels right? You definitely have to lower that ride height to get them to look right. Or 996 GT3 18" wheels look very similar and are popular on 993s.
yeah they were 997 GT3, adjusting the ride height is the next endeavor.
just painted the old turbo twists and put them on:
