Boils down to whether you will ever regret having a white car. Colors are subjective. Know with me, I wanted only midnight/ocean blue with blue top with cashmere interior for my 1st 993. I also had a second choice as backup. Kept only on that path. I had a fun search for nearly one year to get proper match with pristine condition, and colors. 40K is a lot of $ not to get close to your color expectations as you will not enjoy the car as much, imo.
I would wait. I love white withthe blue interior but the Arena Red with grey seats is my new favorite. And as any Arena Red owner knows the factory installed better, stronger motors in Arena Red P-Cars.

FGL28....You don't want to go there!! I found the old post that varified that the white 993's did in fact get the strongest engines!! As a matter of fact, it was the white cabs according to the guy at the factory. Here, just to refresh your memory.....(I should hope this doesn't cause another problem among Rennlist members)...
I like white, but I looked for about six months before I found the right one. If you want another color, wait until you find it. Cost too much to have regrets. Besides, it's all about the journey...
As far as a mechanic for a PPI. I found this place through POC when I drove up to Hollywood to look at a '98 C2S. This is a small husband & wife operation. He is from Germany and was part of Porsche racing development team in the 60's. He has a passion for Porsche's like I wish I had for anything. I learned so much from him it was a truely amazing experience. He spent about an hour going over the car with a fine tooth comb and then spent another hour with me talking about everything that was good and bad about the car, as well as what I should pay for the car. It was easily the best $95 I ever spent. BTW, I didn't buy the car...
Here's the link to their website. I only wish I lived closer for him to work on my car (not that it needed anything), although I have found Porsche people to be very friendly and helpful in general. Good luck.
Ahh for some reason I vote for White! . Actually white was my second choice after Silver. I found several Silver coupes but they all had issues. I admit that after 4 months of very active looking I "settled" on the white car because it was in very good mechanical shape and was a good deal as well. Enjoy your search. It's a good problem to have!
Patrick's car looks really sweet....if you are seriously considering buying the Autotrader car, you really ought to consider Patrick's (PK). He's a Rennlister which makes all the difference in the world.
Do you want us to make a choice for you!! Would you like us to choose the the color of the paint in your bedroom..... point made, go with your heart, not with the consus of opinion.
