Is there any difference in the lens on the outside between the Litronics and the normal halogen assembly? I was thinking of putting Expel headlight protectors on but they only list a part for the regular Carrera (which presumably may be either style light). Put another way, will a halogen lens protector fit a Litronics assembly?

The lenses are the same.

Used Xpel on my TT, nice protection !
