OK....so do I go for pilots ps2, rosso or kumho mx....I am looking for low noise with good grip and something that will last 10-15000 miles....I have read all the archives...oh my eyes! Kumho seem to get good rating from a lot on here but the noise is bad....so I am thinking that I will not go that way....the rosso I have on seem ok...are the ps2's that much better in wear / grip....its unlikely that I will track these so its for "spirited" road driving on a DAILY basis....I want order from tirerack and get fitted before our Baltimore drive next w/e

The Continental Sport Contact 2 tires that I installed two weeks ago fit the bill perfectly for me. They are quiet, smooth, and look fantastic. I've already racked up nearly 2,000 miles on them....
I bought these as a package deal with a new set of 18" Turbo twists - 225/40 front and 265/35 rear.
I don't know how your wheels can't fit. I'm running 285's in the rear, my car is very low and I have no issues. My Pzeros are noisy now that they're below 50% tread left. They ain't cheap either.
I'm currently running 295 MPSC's in the rear of my C2 on the stock 10 inch hollow spoke with the 65mm offset. Oh yeah, I just got a set of Hoosiers in 305/30-18's and they fit!!!!! It is on a set of 10.5 inch Forgelines with a 56mm offset.

Thanks, George, that's great news. I have offsets of 51mm for the front and 63mm for the rear. What are the biggest tires I can stuff in the fenders? Fenders are rolled and am running neg camber of 2.0 front/2.5 rear.
I wish I could give you a definite answer but I swear every c2 I've seen is a little different. I must have the widest narrow body. My fenders are rolled with 2.25 inch springs and my camber is 2.75 in the front and 2.5 in the rear, so it sounds like we have similar setups.
I've tried the 225/285 and 235/295 MPSC combos on the stock turbo twists. Both fit with absolutely no issues. I tried the 235/295 combo on my Forgeline's to see how much extra room I had on the inside, and I had plenty. Then I tried a set of Hoosier R3S03 that I got from Kev (he could not fit them on his 993 cup car) on the Forgeline's and they fit. So, I called Hoosier and based on their advice I ordered a set of 245/40-18 and 305/30-18 in the new compound (R3S05). They were wider than the R3S03's but still fit, they almost rubbed on the outside but I could stick my hand between the back of the tire and the oil lines (my big fear of rubbing). So, if I make the 10.5 into an 11 with a new inner section, they will fit perfectly. The 305 in the rear makes the back end look like a steamroller. They are huge! I guess I could try a 275 in the front if I make the 8.5 to a 9. Something to think about for next year.

My car is lowered with 2.5 degrees of negative camber in the rear. I have 285s on 18" wheels with the 65mm off set, they fit just fine no rubbing...

I'm not sure which person is not paying attention here. Look at the pic I posted of 295's on a 10.5 with the "wrong" offset of 56mm. It fits with room to spare. I would actually call 56mm the perfect offset for the rear of my car.
No worries...you know one of these days you have to post pics of your fenders being rolled if you have them. There are alway those that don't believe the baseball bat really works

285s on 18x11' ET52 on my MY98 cab so I'm "off" by a total of 25mm...had to roll the fenders but they fit

I'm in full agreement w/ you that there is quite a bit of clearance variance from car to car...there are even a few rennlisters who have difference in clearance between the left and right sides. Plus it seems there is some variation on where manufacturers take their measurements at

...Sure it fits, because you have 11" wheels. You wouldn't get away with it if your wheels were 10" like the original poster's. Don't forget the relationship between wheel width and offset.
I don't understand what you mean...my outboard clearance has been reduced by over 25mm....13mm from moving from ET65 to ET52 and an additional 12.5mm (1/2") from going from a 10" to an 11" rim; my inboard clearance remains the same.
Sorry for slightly OT question here, but will 295/30-18 PS2s fit on my NB with 10" hollow spokes rear? I have 285s now and they are fine, even though my car has H&R springs... Anyone have experience with 295s on 10s?
I have bought Pirelli Rosso A's N4 225/40 and 265/35 for my 18" rims.....getting fitted Friday......Blizzacks (cant seem to get Dunlop M3's for love nor money!!!) will be going on the 17" rims for winter........now all I need is to get the suspension done....oh that slippery slope!!!!
PITA.....but my 17" rears were shot anyway and the fronts are not great so one way or another I had to get something.....I read ALL the recent archives on tires and in the end just went with Pirellis as that is what is on this car already and I find them sticky enough for daily spirited driving, quiet enough ... i.e. cannot hear them over the engine note and the wear while not great is a known factor....I will have to replace rears in 10-12K miles!!! Oh well
