How did this work out for all of you who ordered? I'm lifter shopping.

Haven't gotten mine yet, but I'm in no hurry at all, as I don't need them. I'll call to check tomorrow.

Any updates on what happened? Did everyone get their lifters? I am only asking because I have started shopping for parts for my rebuild.

Cheers,

Mike

I guess I'll give Jerry a call. I told him to put me last in line, since I don't need them. But now I need to order some small maint. stuff, so I'll give him a ring and report back.

Any word on this? They're listed as "out of stock" on his site.

Got my lifters this past Sat. in the mail. I don't even need them, just wanted the great price for someday. If there's any way to tell which size my car has without taking an old lifter out, Id like to know. If I have the wrong ones, I'll trade them to someone else who needs them and has the ones I need.

What was the price in the end?

Cheers,

I think $14 and change per lifter.

Rick, and Jason,

These are readily available anymore from multiple suppliers. Besides Febi. GER and LUK are just two of the ones that distribute them. They are also dirt cheap and just as good as factory. I sold my last ones for $12 each. So MUCH better than getting them from a Porsche dealer.

As long as there hasn't been any work done on your valvetrain (guides or valves or etc. replaced) you should be fine using the standard size. Its only if you've had work done on the engine that you'll need to do the measurements and than hopefully your engine rebuilder wrote this down for you when he took the measurements.

Jason speaks wise words,....

Whenever we do a valve job on 993 heads, the total installed height of the assembly is carefully measured and noted so the overall lengths of the valves are maintained after they have been ground.

This ensures that the original lifters can be used.

Ok, what constitutes "standard size"? My engine has not yet been apart.

The standard size is porsche part #993-105-141-05, the slightly (0.5mm) shorter lifter is #993-105-141-51 and the even shorter (1.0mm) lifter is #993-105-141-61. THIS thread goes into a little more detail.

Any hints on where to find them?
