...surprisingly well balanced despite being so top heavy... once you get used to throwing it into corners, it's actually fun....

I took my allroad to my first drivers event since cabs were not allowed. It was a blast throwing that 4100 lb beast through the corners. I upgraded the sway bars so it handled a little better than stock. My instructor was impressed with its manners for such a tank. I even got sent around a C5 vette one time. That guy had to be bummin.

With torsen awd, my guess is that you are locking the brakes with ABS and smoking them that way. I have never seen an Audi smoke tires under acceleration. If they begin to slip, they stop pulling, and distribute the torque to the wheels that have traction. Another possibility for the smoke is brake fry. I don't know how fast you were going, but I have certainly seen brakes smoke that much on street cars

Yes, I definately smoked the brakes along with the tires.... the guy just laughed that he'll have to get new brakes and tires sooner rather than later.. he hated the stock P6 tires on there anyway.... so it was all good....
I asked if he was o.k. a few times since he got pretty quiet but I did manage to get around at a decent laptime passing quite a few cars...
People mentioned knowing exactly when I was out there driving it because they could hear me squeeling the hell out of the tires... LOL

...yes, I must admit I had a pretty big grin on... who knew an allroad could be so much fun to throw around a track!!!

just curious, how many laps did you drive the allroad, i'm assuming this was a DE day? Usually instructors only drive a couple laps at moderate speed during the first session of the day to give the student a feel for the line, turn-in points, etc. The rest of the day is usually instruction from the passenger seat? Just curious, that was my experience on my first (and only) day as a student at a DE.
