try depressing the clutch much later when coming to a stop. Much like at the last second when the revs are near idle. I am a little shocked that you are having this trouble..

HERE are the ISV mod instructions from Tom.
Thanks. I'll try cleaning the ISV and check the electrical connections before actually attempting any ISV adjustments.

I have a MY96 with the LWF, and when coming to a stop, clutch in, right foot on the brake pedal, the car will automatically rev when the R's drop. It sounds kind of cool, like I'm doing it on purpose, but it happens automatically. Just a slight rev, to keep it from stalling I presume. Does you car do this?

I have the LWF in my '96 and never had any stalling issues. However, my idle does stay at 500 and it drives me nuts.

I cleaned my ISV last night and all seems good so far. I saw the epoxy covering the three areas but didn't bother with any of it until I saw what it's like with a good cleaning.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Now it's time for my LWF...

Ditto that.

Your idle revs are too low but by the way you drive you can prevent stalling issues.

Hey guys, not sure if this help in diagnosis but when i unplugged the ISV is idled up to about 850-900. where it should be. Though is was surging, would this problem then be related to Vacum or the ISV.

Yes, I had not cleaned it before. As for the epoxy covered screws, I was reading a thread that explained how to remove the epoxy and actually adjust the ISV to compensate for a poor or low idle. Luckily for me, the cleaning is all it needed. The ISV is right there, on top of the intake plenum so I didn't follow any thread for this procedure but if you want, go to www.p-car.com and check in their technical section, it's explained. It's a really easy job but wait for the engine to cool down because one of the clamps was a bit of a pin in the *** to loosen while it was still hot. A full can of brake parts cleaner and drying time was all that was necessary.

The ISV mod is simple, just dremel the center of the epoxy, break up what's left w/ a pick. 3 x4.5mm hex bolts are then exposed. Rotate the inner core clockwise to inc. idle

it's sensitive, just a tiny movement should be made.

Dirty ISV valves are typically slow to react, which become out of phase with air demand to maintain and quickly adjust for specified idle speed. I would think periodic cleaning will help.

i had all the problems you guys mentioned, but had the MAF changed and most of the problems disappeared if not for the occasional stalling, i did not have the ISV adjusted and am not prepared to do it, the idling rev of my 94/95 euro 993 remains approx 750rpm. Before i changed out the defective MAF, it remained about 1200 rpm
