OK Steve,

Now what if I screw up and get in a locked car and try and fire her up, do I now have to turn ignition off, lock/unlock car then proceed with the correct pattern of- turn ign. on hit button then start car?

Rick,

After you unlock your car, the ignition is "mobilzed" for about 3 minutes. I'm not sure what you mean by a screw up?
