Default Suspension Install recommendations in Seattle?

Hi all,

I've asked around for quote from a a few shops on the east side for a install, alignment and corner balance and they seem to be expensive relative to others who've posted on this board ($900 range)... this is even before I tell them about wanting to get the suspension myself (Gert)

Further they're very standoff-ish when I mention I'd bring in the suspension...clearly, because they don't make their markup on the parts. Once shop mentioned that "everytime the suspension is provided by a customer, its missing parts and that just ends up costing more shop time" ... please, spare me the BS.

Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations for shops that do a good job, don't have an issue with me bringing Gert's goodies in and are fair in their pricing.

Anyone?

Take a drive south to Steve W's shop. Nice drive with great service on the other end.

I highly reccomend Greg Fordahl's shop in Bellevue. Great suspension work on my 996. http://www.fordahlmotorsports.com/

Hey Dennis...You might try Omni Brake and Alignment in Kirkland (PCA sponser). They put in PSS-9's on 993's (they also did my first set of H&R springs) and don't mind if you have the parts (they didn't mind me furnishing my stuff). They have also handled all the alignments on my car. Ask for Pat Miller at 425-823-1511. Good luck!

Sorry, I thought this exactly the type of service Steve offers. Have you tried asking him?

Kelly...Steve is great also but he is like 180 miles or so South of us. Sometimes it is good to get stuff done in your own back yard in case of something comming up in the future and ease of taking and picking up the car.

I can highly recommend Cantrell Motorsports. Colin Cantrell is a well-respected Porsche suspension installer and tuner. colincantrell AT msn DOT com Tell him Pete sent you.

He does the track prep for several of my cars; including my 993 Turbo

Hi Dennis,

I used True Line for the alignment but they do installs. I have been happy with the alignments I have had done there. They know the kinematic alignment on the rear suspension.

I did my install in my garage...it was not bad at all. Be sure to use teflon grease on the sway bar bushings!

Cheers

I too have used True Line for nearly 20 years. Byron is a wiz at alignments. They are also very cautious about where the cars are parked, particularly Porsches, since the area can be a bit dodgy at times. Speedware in Redmond has also been very good in the past as well. They do a lot of prep for DEs and Track days. They are usually several weeks out, however.

I can add my recommendation of Pat at Omni. He will do the job right with no BS.

Dennis,

I had Group 2 (Ballard) install my Bilstein HD + ROW M030 springs I purchased from Gert. They had no problem with me providing the parts myself. Chris does the alignment at Group 2 and is very good. They do all the alignment work for Gerber Motorsports. I would recommend them highly. http://www.group2inc.com/, phone # is 206-378-0900. Owner is Joe.

Best, Bill
