Hi Everyone,
Just in case anyone is interested, that car is back on Ebay with no mention of it's famous owner anywhere; still trying to claim FPSH even when it lists recognised specialists (which in some cases are better than the local Porsche garage (ask me how I know ;-) ). One sucker has already bid on it though luckily they have bid below reserve.
Cheers,
David

Sorry GRMN you had to have seen the original posts to enjoy the post. This guy started off asking how much he should pay for a given car on Ebay but then it backfired as not only were we picking holes in this car but it turned out to be his dad's car that he had been claiming that he owned. He has deleted his texts so you cannot follow the string so well now.
Cheers,
David

Actually the 993 was not my dad's but mine all along. I have sold the 993 for the same price I originally paid for it.
The 993 was is an ok car but no where near as good as some might have you believe. When ever I see reviews of this car, and having owned one for 8 months and driven 10 thousand miles it make me laugh. The 993 reviews are so over hyped. I now own a 987S which is a much better car than the 993. Believe me drive both and make your own mind up.

...Oh, and go ahead and try to sell that 987 for what you paid for it next year.

The 993 was 65K new and held its price well while the 996 and 986 cars where around. But times are changing and people dont want a 10 year old 993 with the dated 80's interior and cassett tape holders, they prefer a better balanced and modern designed car. Have you ever sat in 987? I doubt it. I think the 993 days are numbered as a Porsche investment. The 997 and 987 will push your odd 993 prices down and down and down....
