Well, not just relatives. I live in a decent neighborhood in the 'burbs and there's a definite stigma to driving a somewhat aggressive ricemobile. The 911 makes far more noise driving by and gets nothing but thumbs-up. The STI gets head swivels and scowls. Odd but true.

Really, though, what people think is way down the list for me. The number one concern is not losing (too much of) the performance of the STI. I'm surprised and concerned that you find the EVO, "Way more fun to drive than my 993."

Clearly, I've got to get out and test drive some 993s--can't make a decision like this based on what a car should feel like or how it should perform based on testimonials and specifications.

i am surprised...like i said, i have driven the sti (brother-in-law's car, which my sister has never gotten into --and never will!): it was fun, but i didn't think it was more fun than my 993.

if you really do like the evo more then why even keep the 993 (they aren't getting any younger)?

His Evo is the MR so its pretty quick, so I can see it being more "fun".

It certainly is more fun to drive, for me at least. It has quicker tighter steering, easy to to throw around a track, accelerates like a bat outta hell in stock form, lighter, it just doesn't have the classic appeal that the 993 does. If you haven't driven one, then I guess you just wouldn't know. I thought about selling the 993 but I can never have too many toys. With $5000, an EVO can be transformed into a beast capable of 11 sec. 1/4 mile times. Can't do that in a NA 993, even supercharged! No flames please, this is just my opinion on two totally different vehicles.

I would agree with Edward (for whatever it may be worth!) That RS is beautiful Not over the top, has just the right look and looks to be in great shape. I'd love to have one like that. Ditch the Scooby-do and go for a sibling 993. And let me say, there's nothing wrong with a high miles car, I love mine with 101,500 on it! I get no less looks and thumbs up and comments than a car with half the miles, AND I probably have a fraction of the problems I've seen on this board. Get a nice yellow one to park next to its little brother

Rally,

Nice RS. Not to change the subject, but what is the name of that yellow? Being yellow 911 biased, it really looks awesome to me.

Not sure. I thought it was Light Yellow, but when I got a can of tough-up from PaintScratch, it was too light. The original color was Signal Orange.
