No idea what it was yet. I'm happy that I can't see a hole in the case, but I can't see all the engine. I'm not getting my hopes up too high as the "ka-boom" was pretty damn loud and all power immediately went away. I would not expect a simple oil line failure to do that (but I can hope).
While most of my issues from earlier this year were self-inflicted (exhaust/sound problems when I tried to "upgrade" my exhaust and wheel bearings that I'm convinced were related to how I tied it down to the trailer), this is the first real problem that I've had that I had no control over. It was a big dissapointment that it happened and that it happened during my first race.

Sorry to hear of your "1st race event". It will be interesting to see what caused the failure. Does the crank turn by hand?
Since the heads will be off and valve guides redone, a little port cleanup is a fairly inexpensive method of gaining some ponies.
