I started with a 1990 944 S2, now I have a 95 993. All are great..

I'd have to recommend against a 930 for a first Porsche. They are pretty tricky to drive and having a bunch of 911 experience first would be a good idea. I think a 993 is a great choice. Just make sure you get a nice one (consult an impartial expert and a great mechanic first).

If you can afford it, the 993 is an outstanding first and even last Porsche.....I myself have owned a 1985 3.2 Carrera, 1990 964 and 1995 993 and the 993 was my all time favourite....
