Default What's this 993 Carrera worth?

This car is at a local dealer, and to me, the price is a bit high. I just wanted you guys to take a look at it and tell me what you think a fair price would be.

1997 Porsche Carrera Cabrio
11,500 miles
Tiptronic Transmission (I know)
PERFECT condition
Aksing $64,950

I was told that the body kit is made by Gemballa and there is also a high end audio system installed.

That price is insane and is off by about 20K. As a point of reference, I almost bought a 96 C4 cab 18 months ago with similar mileage (that another rennlister picked up) for $41.5K. That one was more desirable as it was: triple black, six speed, had sport seats, rear seat delete, 18 inch turbo twists. This car will never sell for that price.

Yes those side skirts are Gemballas. Although the car has low miles and some nice mods, the tip is a negative...and no way is it worth $65k...heck, if for that amount you can buy my cab which also has some nice mods That car is probably worth $46-52k given the mods

I'd say $45k - $46k. Take off those ugly side skirts and it'd be worth a bit more. ;

Unless someone really likes the mods, and color combo (especially top) these options/features will bring down the value. To some, a Tip is a positive, like two drivers, one does not drive stick, heavy commute, so on. Not sure how "perfect" is defined, but if a real 10 out of 10, this is still overpriced by at least 10K during summer peak season.

I'd think that $40K is a realistic number, although I wouldn't pay it.

I'm also a bit surprised by a combo of marble interior and a tan roof.

Actually it looks like a black roof rather than tan. I think the bright light overhead is making it look tan.

The "high end audio" systems that people always advertise are worth nothing. If the seller thinks it's worth anything, ask him how much and then ask to remove it all and discount the car. Then ask if he think's he can sell it separately for that much. Some people have a hard time realizing that most mods are not worth much and you should only do it for your enjoyment, not because you think it will increase value of the car.

$65k is too high. that car doesn't even have a full leather interior...and i doubt the sound system is worth anything extra (actually, i would rather have a porsche sound system just for the stock look)

Is the interior marble or classic grey?
In either case I agree w/nile 13. Strange color combo.

Upon further look, it's definitely not Marble (I know, I have Marble interior, the steering wheel is black). So it's either Classic gray or Rubicon gray.

In any event, tip cabs do not seem to bring as much money as any other 993 variant, judging by ebay and other sources. So...

Can't tell what kind of headunit that is, but the rest of the stereo that you can see looks to be "high end" - focal 3 ways in a custom enclosure. A rennlister had similar door enclosures fabricated and if I recall they were pretty pricey. Also you can see what looks like a sub box in the rear seat area. Car also has front bumperette delete, muffler tip shields, and those are older RH wheels I think. I personally like the side skirts and would pay a bit extra, but the wheels being chrome are a negative IMHO. I'm also not a big fan of that particular tail on a cab.

This car is almost certainly midnight blue with a GRAY top, not tan or black. AFAIK, gray was the standard top color for midnight blue cars, and my previous midnight blue '96 cab had a gray top that looked like this. I think the lighting here is just really yellow. Not sure if the interior is Rubicon gray (like mine was) but I think so. The whole package is a great color combo. But this car will take a LONG time to sell listed at that price. I wouldn't recommend over $43 myself.

There's bad feng-shui in a Carrera that's been tarted up like that but hardly ever driven.
